A Little About Us
UB DESIGN was founded by Deepti Bhattarai, with a dream that began long before the business ever did.
Growing up watching Bollywood movies, Deepti fell in love with the beautiful outfits, sparkling jewellery and glamour she saw on screen. She dreamed of one day wearing pieces just like them. But as she grew older, she struggled to find South Asian fashion and jewellery that truly spoke to her. Pieces that felt modern and exciting while still celebrating the beauty of our culture.
So one day, she decided to create what she had always been searching for herself. And that dream became UB DESIGN.
Why UB?
UB carries a meaning incredibly close to Deepti’s heart. They are the initials of her single dad, who raised his two daughters and worked incredibly hard to give them every opportunity he could.
Deepti wanted his initials to be a part of everything she built because everything she is today, and everything UB DESIGN has become, would not have been possible without him.
Today, UB DESIGN brings together high quality South Asian jewellery and traditional attire in Australia, from jewellery and bangles to sarees, lehengas and kurtis. Inspired by the magic of Bollywood and the timeless beauty of South Asian culture, every collection is chosen to make dressing up feel special again.
